With eight weeks to go until the U.S. Cyclocross Nationals, the Donnelly Professional Cyclocross Team opted for various forms of 'training' this past weekend. Within the next two months there are just a handful of domestic UCI-level races and our team will be working hard to fine tune their motors for the big event in Reno, NV this coming January!
Laurel Rathbun is on her way to the Netherlands to train and race with USA Cycling. For the past several years around Thanksgiving time USA Cycling has hosted a cyclocross camp to help up and coming riders gain valuable European racing experience. Just prior to leaving Laurel pinned on a number at the Cyntergy Hurtland, a one-day UCI race in Tulsa, OK. "It was a great event! The field was small, but strong and I felt pretty good," said Laurel. "I scooped up a few more UCI points before heading off to Europe tomorrow!"

Jamey Driscoll lives in Utah so getting to some amazing places to ride and spend time with his family is not that hard to do. And, sometimes it is much needed. "This weekend we went down to Virgin, Utah for a refreshing break and some quality family time," said Jamey. "I got in a couple of awesome desert rides and it was a great mental break from the race routine. It’s nice to have such an amazing place so close to home."
Jamey and Lance will be racing this upcoming weekend a the UCI races in Los Angeles, CA.
Lance Haidet knows weekends off are necessary for keeping the body and mind fresh. He also knows it's hard to relax and sit still!
"I had some degree of racing withdrawal, but luckily there was all kinds of rad stuff going on this weekend in my home town of San Luis Obispo," said Lance. "I did some solid training as well as hanging out at the Pivot Cycles demo day at Art’s Cyclery. I was stoked to get a couple hours of shredding on Pivot’s Mach 6 trail bike. That bike is incredible."
In addition to ripping mountain bikes, Lance also attended a local 'cross race since it was 15 minutes from his house. "It was great to have a weekend at home, but I’m really looking forward to racing CXLA this coming weekend!" said Lance
